Dr. J. BRANDON ALLEN, DDS

Owner & Founder

Dr. Allen knew he wanted to be a dentist by his sophomore year of high school. Growing up in The Colony, he had a hometown dentist named Dr. Kevin Seidler who left a mark that never faded. That relationship eventually led Dr. Allen to Baylor University and then Baylor College of Dentistry. After graduation he married his college sweetheart, Brittany, and followed her back home to East Texas. He took over a practice in Athens and never looked back.

More than two decades later, one office has grown into three and they’ve have built it together. Dr. Allen leads the clinical side while Brittany is our Business Director. It's a family practice in every sense of the word.

"The goal for dentistry today is to help you keep your teeth for your lifetime. We focus on gum health, the condition of your teeth, your bite, and esthetics. We walk a fine line between overtreatment and neglect, and we stay on that line by asking what we'd do for our own family."

Dr. Allen's commitment to excellence runs deep. He has earned his Fellowship and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (over 1,100 hours of continuing education) and is on track to receive the AGD's Lifelong Learning Service Recognition. He's also a member of the Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the Spear Faculty Club.

His faith drives his service as he directs the dental clinic at the Bullard Mission House and travels internationally on mission trips to Romania alongside Dr. Seidler, the same man who inspired him to become a dentist.

He and Brittany are proud parents of two. Their daughter Brynn graduated from Baylor with a degree in Interior Design and married her high school sweetheart Luke James (who is in dental school). Their son Bridger is at Baylor on a pre-dental track, as dentistry seems to run in the family.

When he's not in the office or on a mission trip, you'll find Dr. Allen on the golf course, in a deer stand, or out on the water with the people he loves most.

Dr. KATHRYN TUCKER, DDS

Athens

Smiling woman with long brown hair wearing a green blouse and gold necklace indoors.

Dr. Tucker's path to dentistry is remarkable. Before dentistry, she worked at a pediatric oncology lab at UT Southwestern and as a primate zookeeper at the Dallas Zoo. She actually witnessed her first dental procedure at the zoo… a root canal on a tiger.

She went back to school, earned her DDS from Texas A&M College of Dentistry, and brought her scientific curiosity and genuine love for people straight into her practice.

"Our smiles are as unique as we are, and our dental care should be the same. No single treatment will fit each person's needs and goals, and I am committed to working with my patients to help them achieve their healthiest, most beautiful smiles."

A forever student at heart, Dr. Tucker holds a BS in Zoology from Texas A&M and an MS in Behavior Analysis from the University of North Texas. She is currently working toward her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. She's also a member of the Spear Study Club and the ADA. She also brings that same drive for learning into every patient conversation. Her passion is helping people understand their own oral health deeply enough to take ownership of it.

She and her husband Scott, who she has been married to for nearly 20 years, love video games, overly complicated board games, and cheering on their son at whatever sport is currently in season. She personally loves diving into Sci-Fi and fantasy audiobooks, with the Wheel of Time series holding the top spot.

When not reading or gaming, she's training. Her current obsession is preparing for the Texas Water Safari, a 260-mile canoe and kayak race from San Marcos all the way to the Gulf. On family trips, you'll almost always find the Tuckers at a National Park. They've hit 23 of the 63 so far with Rocky Mountain taking the top spot. They loved it so much that they named their dogs after it.

Bullard

Smiling woman with curly black hair, glasses, and white lace-sleeved top in warm indoor setting.

Dr. Anna Ramos brings a rare combination of world-class prosthodontic training, artistic precision, and deeply personalized care to Allen Family Dentistry. With more than 12 years of experience and an internationally distinguished clinical and academic background, she is passionate about transforming smiles in a way that restores confidence, function, and quality of life.

Originally from Maceió, Brazil, Dr. Ramos earned her dental degree from the Federal University of Alagoas before completing an elite specialty program in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry through the Brazilian Dental Association (ABO). She later earned both her Master of Science and PhD in Dental Science with a focus in Restorative Dentistry at UNESP, one of Brazil’s leading research universities.

Before moving to the United States, Dr. Ramos built a distinguished career as a clinician, educator, researcher, and academic leader. She taught in dental schools, directed continuing education and specialty training programs, served as Dean of a dental school, and authored more than 25 scientific publications and abstracts in international peer-reviewed journals. Despite her accomplishments, she remains deeply passionate about lifelong learning and believes excellence in dentistry is a continual pursuit.

“I believe exceptional dentistry is about restoring confidence, comfort, and quality of life; not just teeth.”

Driven by her commitment to providing the highest level of care, Dr. Ramos chose to leave behind an established career to pursue advanced specialty training in Prosthodontics at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, where she completed her residency as Chief Resident.

Dr. Ramos specializes in comprehensive restorative care, esthetic dentistry, implant rehabilitation, and complex full-mouth reconstruction. Her philosophy is rooted in minimally invasive, biologically driven dentistry that preserves natural tooth structure, when possible, while delivering elegant, long-lasting results tailored to each patient. She believes exceptional dentistry should never feel rushed or one-size-fits-all, and she is known for her attention to detail, calm presence, and ability to make even complex treatment feel comfortable and approachable.

She is proud to bring advanced specialty-level care to East Texas and honored to serve patients with the same level of excellence, honesty, and compassion she would want for her own family.

Dr. MORGAN COPELAND, DDS

Athens & Bullard

Some people spend years searching for the right fit. Dr. Copeland walked into Allen Family Dentistry and never left. This was her first job out of dental school and she loves it here!

A University of Texas at Tyler graduate with a BS in Biology, she went on to earn her DDS from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. She brings a warmth and intentionality to patient care that you’ll notice right away.

"The best way to gain trust from patients is to actively listen and truly understand them. I strive to treat my patients the way I would treat my own family members and the same way I'd want to be treated if the roles were reversed."

Dr. Copeland is an active member of the Spear Study Club and maintains memberships with the ADA, TDA, East Texas Dental Society, and AGD. She's committed to growing as a clinician because she believes her patients deserve someone who never stops learning. She's also given her time on mission trips to rural Texas and Jamaica.

Outside the office, she's a devoted cat mom to three rescues, a lover of live music and concerts, and someone who takes a really good meal seriously. On weekends you may find her on the lake soaking up the sunshine or chasing a music festival worth the drive.

Dr. CAMILO ARGUELLO, DDS

Palestine

Smiling man wearing light green shirt and plaid tie standing indoors with a stone wall background.

Dr. Arguello didn't take the shortest road to East Texas, and his patients are better for it. He earned his DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy followed by a hospital-based dental residency with medically complex and special needs patients. During residency, he performed dental surgeries in the OR and trained alongside a wide range of medical and dental specialists. That foundation gave him a depth of clinical experience that shows in the way he approaches every case.

"I want every patient to feel like they are being treated like family, and know that whatever recommendations or treatment we do, I approach it as if I was treating a family member to the best of my ability."

Dr. Arguello pursues continuing education through Spear Study Club and beyond, always looking for new techniques to help patients. He also volunteers with local schools and boxing centers by providing mouthguards. His heart has led him to serve on mission trips to Colombia and the Dominican Republic. As a fluent Spanish speaker, he’s able to deliver care in the language many of his patients are comfortable speaking.

At home, life revolves around his wife, their two kids Cora and Leo, and their 7-year-old dog Meeko. Cora and Leo are already growing up speaking English, Spanish, and Mandarin. The family enjoys tending their small garden, swimming, hiking, or watching football. He also still considers the best day of his life the day he got up the courage to ask his wife out in college. She inspires him to be better every day, and it shows in everything he does.
